Finding God Underground

Eli Sharabi is an Israeli writer and former hostage who was held hostage by the brutal Hamas Islamic regime for 491 days before being freed in February 2025: "All these ceremonies just remind us how we are Jewish, which gave us lots of strength as a group; I found God again 50 metres underground. I felt someone protecting me,” he said, adding that there were at least ten examples of where he believed he was near death but “felt something keeping me alive. I’m really grateful for that.”

The nature of nature

The ancient Greeks like Gorgias declared that nothing exists. Heraclitus and Parmenides, by contrast, seize opposite sides of the problem. Heraclitus sees the reality of change but, pushed radically, loses the enduring subject that changes. Parmenides sees that reality must in some sense persist, but concludes that genuine change is impossible. Advaita Vedānta Hinduism likewise treats the world of plurality and change that we ordinarily experience as māyā—appearance or illusion rather than ultimate reality.

This video shows the toxic implications of that worldview for morality, culture, and politics. The evidence across biology, chemistry, and physics points in a different direction. From the digital code in the DNA of a cell to the fine-tuning of the universe, modern science increasingly reveals a world marked by plan and purpose.
